NASBA Center for the Public Trust Announces New Board Appointment
NASHVILLE, TENN. (Feb. 19, 2026) – The NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) today announces Dr. Terri Herron, CPA, as a new appointee to its Board of Directors for 2026. The CPT, whose mission is to develop, empower and promote ethical leaders, is honored to welcome Dr. Herron and work alongside her as she adds her expertise to the Board.
Dr. Herron of Missoula, Montana, has been a continually licensed CPA since 1987, first in Texas and later in Montana. She was an audit manager and national course instructor with KPMG and was recently appointed to the Montana Board of Public Accountants. Dr. Herron is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Montana Society of CPAs (MTCPA).
Experienced in ethical leadership, Dr. Herron currently serves on the MTCPA Ethics Committee. Additionally, her research as a member of the accounting faculty at the University of Montana focused on audit regulation, ethics, and auditor judgement, including two ethics-focused papers that earned recognition. Dr. Herron was the Paul & Betty Haack Distinguished Faculty Fellow in Accounting and retired in June 2025 after completing 29 years of faculty service at the University of Montana. She also served as associate dean, department chair, graduate program director, area coordinator, and Beta Alpha Psi advisor.
Dr. Herron holds degrees from University of Texas – Arlington (PhD and MS – Accounting) and Baylor University (BSBA). She lives in Missoula, Montana, with her husband, Brad, and they share two grown sons and a granddaughter.
