Celebrating 20 Years of the NASBA Center for the Public Trust

Ethics Matters

Q3 2025

This year marks 20 years of Being a Difference for the NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT). Founded by former NASBA President and CEO David Costello, the CPT was established to be a shining light amidst the financial scandals of the early 2000s. With Costello’s support, in conjunction with fellow founding members Milton Brown and Larry Bridgesmith, the CPT is still making a difference two decades later.

To commemorate 20 years of sustainable, ethical leadership, the CPT invites supporters to participate in its 2025 Annual Fundraiser: “The Chicago Outfit: 20 Years of Being a Difference.” Donations go towards the development, empowerment, and advancement of ethical leaders through a myriad of different programs, including the annual  StudentCPT Leadership Conference (SLC).

The SLC is the CPT’s keystone event-fully sponsoring as many as 60 students to attend a three-day intensive on ethics and leadership. Keeping this experience fully funded allows students to come to the conference ready to learn and absorb information without any costs. The fundraiser will be held alongside the 118th NASBA Annual Meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m. CT. Those who will be attending the Annual Meeting are encouraged to attend! Individual donations act as a ticket to an evening of smooth jazz, light bites and sips, and time with friends old and new. Those who cannot attend in person and participate in the CPT raffle will receive a 20th Anniversary CPT Commemorative Coin as a thank you for their donation and support.
