NASHVILLE, TENN., (JUNE 9, 2015) — The NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) recently presented John Sandoz, of Falls Church, VA, with the Being a Difference Award. The award was presented by Ryan Hirsch, CPT Operations Manager, at the annual Faith in Action award dinner for the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy in Alexandria, VA.
Mr. Sandoz provides consulting services and support to the Department of Defense, other federal agencies and private sector clients on strategy development and implementation, national security policy and international faith-based diplomacy. A retired Naval Captain, Sandoz provides analytical support, develops transformational concepts and recommends capabilities to confront current and emerging threats. He is a recognized subject matter expert in strategy formulation and implementation and supports the Navy’s efforts to incorporate adaptability and flexibility into their plans and strategies.
“Mr. Sandoz has lived his life dedicated to public service and the pursuit of a secure future for America,” said Hirsch. “He remains devoted to the training and mentoring of leaders throughout America and the international community. He empowers these individuals to create conditions for collaborative problem-solving and peaceful coexistence. It is an honor to recognize him as a Being a Difference Award recipient.”
Established in 2006, the CPT’s Being a Difference Award honors four individuals annually for their exceptional contributions to ethical leadership in their businesses and communities. Recipients are selected by a national committee focused on identifying individuals who go beyond their expected professional and personal responsibilities to be a positive influence.
In his nomination, Sandoz was described as exhibiting leadership, a sense of duty, honor and an unwavering commitment to our nation’s security, by supporting thought leadership in policy and strategic planning for the Department of Defense.
Often called upon to support current and future national security leaders in frank and open discussions on pressing foreign policy and national security challenges, Sandoz’s work is regarded as vital and necessary in helping the Department of Defense officials gain a clearer understanding of today’s unpredictable and complex security environment, as well as improve the readiness of Naval, Joint and Special Operations Forces.
