CPT On the Go: BAP and AAA Meetings Recap

CPT BAP

This summer, NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) staff attended both the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, and the American Accounting Association (AAA) Global Connect conference as a professional partner in Las Vegas, NV.

The BAP Annual Meeting took place from July 30-August 1. Student Programs Manager Gia Tims and CPT President Sedrik Newbern participated in professional partner meetings, keynote speaker sessions and exhibiting during the conference. The CPT team met with students and shared information about StudentCPT programming and ethical leadership development. Newbern also spoke to a group of students on ‘Ethics in Action: Building a Foundation of Public Trust.’

The AAA Global Connect conference was held from August 1-5. Newbern attended on behalf of the CPT and tabled beside NASBA staff during the conference, promoting CPT programming and resources to attendees. Throughout the week, Newbern connected with educators, PhD students, and other industry professionals to discover more opportunities for collaboration.

The NASBA Center for the Public Trust looks forward to connecting with more members at next year’s conferences.
