Linda Biek, DBA, CPA, CGMA
Dr. Linda Biek is Director for the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) in New York City. She is a CPA in both Tennessee and Hong Kong and has more than 25 years of experience in accounting and auditing regulation. As Director of Compliance for the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), and later as Head of Investigations and Compliance for Hong Kong’s Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC), Linda contributed to the development of tools and techniques aimed at reducing enforcement delays and supported both organizations’ initiatives to improve audit quality. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, she represented the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) at national and international levels, acting as a primary contact for building relationships with governmental and professional entities to encourage effective regulation of professional accountants. She also served as Executive Director of the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy and has previous experience in KPMG’s audit department. Linda’s doctoral research examines the influence of mindset on auditors’ professional skepticism in evaluating complex accounting estimates. Her work focuses on supporting accountants and auditors in maintaining ethical standards.
