Kevin Brown | 2014-2015

Kevin Y. Brown is an award-winning speaker and author, Brown serves as president of Legacy Thinking Labs, a leading public speaking and consulting firm based in New York.

Through Brown’s keynote addresses, workshops and publications, he equips companies, professionals and students with a broader understanding of how one’s personal brand can serve as a catalyst for increased productivity, self-esteem and achievement.

Raised in the California foster-care system from ages one to 18, Brown is a champion for youth empowerment. He has shared his experiences and lessons learned to a variety of youth groups, both domestically and abroad.

Among these groups include the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) and the International Foster-Care Conference in Osaka, Japan. His work has been featured in Ebony Magazine, Harlem’s Amsterdam News and Foster Focus Magazine.

Established in 2006, the CPT’s Being a Difference Award honors four individuals annually for their outstanding contributions to ethical leadership in their businesses and communities. Recipients are selected by a national committee focused on identifying individuals who go beyond their expected professional and personal responsibilities to be a positive influence.
