Sydney Shearer serves as the Development & Student Programs Specialist for NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust (CPT). In her role, Sydney enhances the work of the CPT by raising funds for operations and working with the staff and university contacts to strengthen StudentCPT chapters across the country.
Sydney earned her Master of Public Service from the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.
Prior to joining the CPT, Sydney coordinated Monitoring & Evaluation at the South African Education & Environment Project in Cape Town, South Africa. She has also worked alongside the First Lady of Tennessee as the Executive Assistant for Outreach at the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation in Nashville.
With more than 5 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Sydney has developed expertise in program evaluation, fundraising, donor engagement, research, and community outreach. Sydney is passionate about providing young people with tools and resources to achieve success and become valuable leaders in their schools, workplaces, and communities.
In her spare time, Sydney enjoys exploring Nashville, running, and traveling the world.
